The event will feature an array of food, beverage dessert trucks; live music and DJs; and activities for the whole family. All are invited to this free community event. Food truck and vendor items will be available for sale.

Voices of the Past Program: The second Saturday each month Joe Zukowski brings James Henry Balchin, a Petersburg Boat Captain to life three times during the day: 12:30, 1:30 & 2:30. The character of the Petersburg Boat Pilot is based on oral histories provided by Elberton, Georgia resident, Mr. 'Buck' Balchin, about his grandfather, James Henry Balchin, who from the mid-nineteenth century until 1900, crewed and piloted cotton boats from Petersburg to Augusta.

Puddle Ducks is a special program that allows caretakers the opportunity to explore and grow with their toddler as they discover the wonders of our natural world. An early connection with nature helps develop a lifetime of stewardship. Come grow with us at Phinizy Swamp! Each month a different nature theme is explored encouraging students to start a connection with our natural world at a very young age. Please note that this event takes a break each July.
Bring your little ones (through age five) out on the second Tuesday of each month for a great time together with stories, crafts and hands-on fun in nature.

This free, weekly program developed by the Kauffman Foundation helps build startup communities nationwide. Purpose is to engage, educate, and connect local entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs, innovators, funders and other interested community members are invited to attend. Each session, two early-stage startups present their companies to an audience of mentors, advisors and other entrepreneurs. Each founder presents for six minutes, followed by a 20-minute question-and-answer session with the audience.

Come join us for the Knitting Circle!
The Knitting Circle at Woodworth Library welcomes knitters of all levels. Basic instruction for beginners is given. The group includes every skill level, from brand new knitters to experienced ones. They also welcome those who love crochet. This group consists of 20-something service members to spouses to retirees – come make a friend of two!
Knitting can relieve depression, reduces anxiety, builds self-esteem, may reduce or postpone dementia, reduce irritability and restlessness. This class is for adults only please.
